2014 Black Friday Expected to Have a Larger Than Ever Online Component!

It may be only October, but retailers are already preparing for the biggest shopping day of the year. Shoppers can expect this day to run more effectively this year than in years past in order to give their buyers more options, thanks to introductions of new technology onto the market, and a wider adoption of mobile-friendly websites and apps.

Black Friday is the day following American Thanksgiving and is statistically shown to be the biggest (and busiest) shopping day of the year, as well as the kickoff to the holiday shopping season. Consumers have come to anticipate the great shopping opportunities, while also being wary of the fact that many crazed shoppers like to camp out in front of stores and then trample each other to get to the latest giggling toddler toy.

Luckily, this day is getting better and better each year as retailers expand to the online marketplace. The combination of an increased confidence and comfort from both retailer and consumers means more opportunities for online shopping deals (and ways to avoid the crowds but still get in on the best bargains). Each year retailers expand their innovative strategy to mix online, mobile, and in-person buying experiences and 2014 will be the first year that options such as Apple Pay will be integrated to make shopping easier than ever before.

It isn’t just large corporate retailers either. Small businesses are starting to join their larger counterparts and take advantage of all of the excitement for this popular shopping day. This means that wherever you prefer to go, or whatever you are looking to purchase, you can expect to find deals online and in-store, from the biggest brand names to the newest local merchants. It may not be a national holiday, but it is a great all-around event, because the shoppers get great deals and the businesses get a great kickoff marketing campaign to take them into the holiday season.

Consumers can get ready to see the best deals from tablets to toys, televisions to treadmills, all ready to leave the stores, or in many cases, the warehouses on November 28th.
